Low Tech , No CAD Board Design

Tools: Pencil , Square , Measuring Tape, 1"x8' Drafting Batten , and some heavy construction paper . All available at Lowes .


Set Length and navigation points at wide point , 12 inches from end of nose and tail . Bend batten to intersect all points and draw a curve .Use the edge of the paper as your stringer.


Make a half template , you can just flip it over for symmetrical sides.



Trace out both sides and give her a cut out. Cheap easy was to start developing your eye for curves and own templates / designs. Zog

  2. I'm trying to learn the art and skill of shaping.Glad I'm not trying to earn a living from it. I find it very relaxing, I must be getting old as very patient with process. Let's charge OBX this spring , warming up quick.
