A Few Corner Pockets

Good Day Surfriders ,

Looks like plenty of fun waves were had this weekend .I was a little pressed for time but , got out for a couple fun corners on Monday morning . Fun surf , and beautiful conditions with zero wind and no one out. Played with the Go Pro and movie maker and here's a couple waves from the session. Zog

when do you go for the surf board vs the SUP board?

  4. Ralph-
been trying to ride the board that fits the wave best. this session very hollow and fast with lots of closeouts.I was looking for those quick corners.SUP really fun on the slower and outside waves at inlet breaks. some days sup just to much board to fit in racey tight barrels of pelican watch or s-turns.zog p.s. tube rides are the my ultimate goal , the most critical part of the wave!

  5. zog- got my first surf board this summer. 7'4 fun shape and corky enough it is hard to duck dive but amazing when I can catch a wave.

this past weekend would have been great for it save for side-shore current. similar fast with closeouts depending on tide. i think its time to break it out again.

  7. we surfed frisco , lighthouse , motels[just as you come in to buxton from the north] , and sea haven between s- turns and rodanthe pier .awesome weeks of sur with offshore winds on 1 side or the other. as for the board decision comment , alot of my decision is based on turning radius.drawing long, speed lines in offshore hurricane or ground swell , sup.shifty peaky shorebreak with tight pockets and lots of quick adjustment , short surfboard. they're both still just surfing but practicing both will definetly enhance your skills in the other disipline. luv riding my takayama 9'6" noserider too.
